Being a guardian family for a dog can be an excellent way to have a top quality dog for a family pet without all the expense. We believe every dog deserves a loving forever family that they can call their own. We are not a kennel breeder as dogs raised in kennels do not get the and that is needed to be a well-balanced happy dog. We believe that a family life is of utmost importance, our Guardian Homes have become an important part of our program and it benefits everyone involved, the dog, the forever family and the breeder. These pups/dog live with you as your family dog while we retain breeding rights for the dog. The puppies are whelped at our home and the mama stays with us until pups are weaned. Depending on many factors the female would remain in our program up to 5 years of age (no more than 4 litters) for females and 9 years for males. In the end we will pay the cost to have your dog spayed or neutered and AKC documents will be released to you. This dog/puppy is your family pet, your forever companion. We simply retain breeding rights and she/he may have a litter or she/he may not depending on the needs of our breeding program that year. Females: When first sign of heat it is very important to let me know so we can track her dates. I will not breed until they are two years of age and fully genetic/health tested. You must feed Diamond Large Breed Puppy Lamb and Rice as a puppy and Diamond Large Breed Chicken and Rice as an adult. We have found that this food has worked well with this breed and its very important to us that you follow our requirements when it comes to health! We have great health tested lines that we do not want unhealthy dogs in our program caused by some of the foods out there. How to qualify as a Guardian Home: In order to ensure the safety and health of the guardian home dog there are certain requirements to qualify for our Guardian Home Program. You must: *Must live within 3 hours of Montrose, MI if youre considering being a guardian of a female. *Must live within 30 minutes of Montrose, MI if youre considering a male. *NOT live in an apartment *Have a fully fenced in yard or underground fence. *Ensure that your puppy is well socialized if placed with you *Provide veterinary care when needed as a regular dog expense. Including monthly prevention. If you live locally and use our veterinarian we will pay for their vaccines and until they retire. (We cover ALL breeding related) *Provide appropriate exercise and training (Including crate train) *Provide proper breed specific grooming *Understand that training and basic commands are very important.
