"NO GOOD DOG IS A BAD COLOUR" Max von Stephanitz, German Shepherd breed founder.
I have received lots of comments about our urajiro masked pups. Asking why breed german shepherds to look like wolves, coyotes or huskies
Here is my response
I have always been a breeder of merit, that prefers the old world straighter frame of the working lines over the angulated frame of the showlines. Breeding for us has always been about the health, temperament and over anything else, including colour, or masking.
I have done extensive reasearch into the and markings of the German shepherd and although some of our colours and are not favoured in the showring, we raise our pups to be confident, social, well raised dogs.
Our mission here is to breed for a strong confident dog that can acclamate to their environment whether its working, sport, protector or family member. We breed for an all around utilitarian temperament.
Yes, they do look like wolves or coyotes, and yes, I could and have bred northern breeds way in the past that had wolf type masking. However, at the forfront of health, temperament and a general all purpose breed, those traits do not come with the northern breeds, nor does the loyality, trainability or confidence that is the German Shepherd. So when people ask, my thoughts on the masking, it is just a that is visually different, but otherwise they are still the true original German Shepherd Dog and extremely incredible dogs.
We have one available female pup with the unique urajiro masking. They do go home with 1st booster and 2nd booster, dewormings, microchip, CKC limited , I do not offer rights on our lines. We offer a 1 year genetic health guarantee and life time support. Please message if you would like further .
