Loving 7-Month-Old Pit Bull Terrier Looking for His Forever Home
It breaks my heart to say this, but I am looking for the best possible forever home for my 7-month-old pit bull terrier. This is not something I am doing lightly, and I am not willing to give him to just anyone.
When we rescued him at only 6 weeks old, he was extremely underweight and appeared to have had a very rough start in life. I don't know exactly what happened to him before we rescued him, but when he first came to us, he was understandably a little scared and unsure.
Since then, we have put a tremendous amount of love, time, patience, and work into him. The transformation has been incredible. He is now a sweet, affectionate, loving, family-oriented puppy who has really learned what it means to be loved and cared for.
He has been raised around children ranging from 4 to 17 years old and has been wonderful with our family. He is not aggressive. He does have an alert, protective instinct and will let you know when someone comes to the door or a stranger is around, but once he gets comfortable, he warms up and shows what a loving dog he truly is.
He is: Very affectionate and loving Family-oriented and used to being indoors Crate trained Potty trained and will let you know when he needs to go outside Up to date on his shots Dewormed Eating well and growing quickly Enjoys walks and time outside Still working on socialization and gaining confidence Has primarily been an indoor dog
He hasn't been destructive or a big chewer in our home. He can live in an apartment as long as his owner is committed to giving him plenty of exercise, attention, training, and outdoor time, but ideally I'd love to see him with someone who has a yard or who can give him lots of opportunities to be active.
Most importantly, he needs someone who understands that he is still a puppy and who will continue the work we've started. He deserves patience, consistency, love, exercise, and a safe environment where he will never have to experience the kind of life he may have had before coming to us.
He is not a dog I want passed around from home to home. He has become a huge part of our family, and although it is very difficult for me to let him go, my current circumstances make it impossible for me to give him the amount of time and attention I believe he deserves.
This isn't because he isn't loved. It's because he is loved enough for me to put his needs ahead of my own.
He is a much happier, healthier, more confident puppy than the scared, underweight little dog we brought home at 6 weeks old. I want his next chapter to be with someone who will love him just as much as we have and give him the wonderful life he deserves.
Please do not contact me if you are looking for a dog on a whim. I want to get to know potential adopters and make sure he is going to a safe, loving, permanent home. If you are genuinely interested and believe you can give him the home he deserves, please call or text: 937-520-4878.
Serious, responsible inquiries only.
