This will be a long post so you have all of her background info.
Piper is a very loved Great Pyrenees looking for a farm and someone who will put time into working with her! She is a super sweet dog! She is amazing with kids, chickens, ducks, geese, and we have a goat that she is fine with as well. She like our male dogs. Shes a dominant female and very iffy with other females. I have 3 other dogs that all run the property and know their boundaries but she can not be let off because she runs away. Sometimes she comes back, sometimes we have to go out hunting for her
Weve had her since she was a puppy. And its our fault she isnt trained better. But because of this, she has to be tethered constantly. She is very spoiled with her food and expects a treat to be in her bowl every time she is fed or she will dump her bowl. She likes leftovers, scrambled eggs, cut up hot dogs as long as there is a treat in there for her shell eat her food without throwing a tantrum. She is not current on vaccines.
The reason for rehoming is she is not living the life we want her to live. She still is healthy and has some good years in her and if she can find a better home where she can serve her purpose better and hopefully free range a farm or large property, we would her go there! She currently is 90% an outside dog. If its too hot in summer, too cold in winter or thundering (shes scared) then she sleeps in the garage.
She is not good in our house. She will pee on rugs if not almost constantly. And I have small kids and do not have time to do that. Weve tried underground wires, wireless fences. And put up a real fence and nothing has contained her to our property.
She tried to start a fight with our neighbors dog the last time she was left to walk on around the yard and she got over there thankfully it was cooled down quickly but we cant let her off her tether after that incident.
Were hoping we can bring her to where ever she will be living for her new home. We want to make sure its a good place for her! We really do love her but we do not have enough property for this breed to roam safely without getting into trouble and like I said I just dont have enough time to sit and watch her constantly in my home.
We would love to be able to visit her maybe once or twice a year and bring her a bone or a treat as we all love her dearly.
Were just trying to give her a better life that she deserves. it was our fault we are not better at training dogs and due to the stubborn of the Great Pyrenees we were not prepared for the difficulty of trying to train her to our property lines.
If you are interested and have time to invest in her and a lot of land for her to roam, please message me.
I do not want her ending up in a pound!
If you wanted to take her and it doesnt work out, I would gladly take her back to keep her from ending up in a shelter. Again the only reason for looking for a potential new home is because she deserves more than we are able to give her.
If you have questions please let me know! If we do not find a good fit we are planning to keep her the rest of her life.
New home must be better than what we are providing now. We do not want her tethered we want someone with enough time to either work with her in the house or have enough land that she can roam safely.
Thank you for reading and possibly taking interest in our sweet girl
